52 Weeks - Week 2

This family picture taking deal is going to be a lot harder than I thought. It's fun but it's hard to get Jackson to cooperate! Here are 2 pictures for this week. The second picture is for Christy...there's my belly, just for you. Oh & it totally looks like I have a can of snuff in my back pocket (Jerry's words, not mine). Yeah, I picked up a nasty habit since becoming pregnant! ;)
No snuff, just the camera lens cap!

HA!

I just realized that Amber is also in the family picture below. I don't know how I didn't notice her before! That's so funny!!

52 Weeks Project - Week 1 (last week)

I've seen this done on some blogs I read and I thought it would be a great idea! Basically, you take a picture a week for 52 weeks to a certain theme. A lot of moms do 52 weeks of themselves with their kids. I was going to do that being as I really don't have many pictures of just Jackson & me but then I decided it would be cool to take a family picture every week. So we started last week with a horrible picture of the 3 of us lounging in bed! It's not the best picture but it's us...being lazy! Please excuse my double chin! :)

Memorial Park

Last week Jackson & I went to the park with Annie & Michael. Jackson really wanted to feed the ducks! He had a lot of fun, especially since his buddy 'Mite' was around!

I. Am. IRRITATED!

I just finished catching up on one of my favorite shows....Pushing Daisies!

It is (was) one of the best shows on TV. If you had never watched it, you surely missed out! I had heard things here & there that it was going to be cancelled but I wasn't 100% sure. So I just went online and lo & behold, ABC is definitely giving it the ax. That irritates me to no end!! How is it that all the good shows get cancelled (Arrested Development, anyone)!?!?! And how on earth can ABC keep crap shows like Wife Swap on the air but they go & cancel quality shows like Pushing Daisies? UGH! I guess a lot of it has to do with viewership and not enough people were watching PD. Come on people, wake up! Man, I'm peeved. I get so invested in a show only to have it end after a season or two. SO IRRITATING! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Friday Night Lights but I guess I shouldn't hold my breath.

Okay, vent over! Thanks for listening and no offense if you like Wife Swap!

Inauguration Day!

Today Barack Obama became our 44th president. Although I didn't vote for him (hmm...who did I vote for!?! I bet you're wondering! :) today was still pretty exciting! I was glued to the TV all morning long. Watching everything made me remember that back when I was in DC in October, preparations were already under way for the inauguration. I thought that was so crazy considering the inauguration was still over 3 months away. We didn't even know who our president was at the time! Anyway, here are a few pix I took while I was there.

Happy Birthday, Jerry!

Jackson & I just wanted to wish Daddy (Jerry) a very Happy 33rd Birthday today! We love him very, very much and we appreciate all that he does for us. He's the best daddy & husband a little guy & a wife could ask for! We look forward to celebrating this evening at a yet to be determined restaurant! (That's a crack at Jerry who can't decide where we're going to eat!)
;)

Here's an oldie but favorite picture of mine! Happy Birthday!!

We have a name!

We've finally decided on a name for our little girl! Unfortunately for you dear readers I won't be sharing it here on the blog until she makes her grand entrance. I'm so cruel, aren't I? I don't mind sharing it if you must know but you'll have to email me or you can just hold your horses until May. Bwahahaha! ;)

Where Jatson?

MomMom, where Jatson?

That's what I heard from the little body behind the roman shade.

Picasso

Jackson got these two really cool Christmas paint sets for his birthday. He got the wooden Santa from Uncle Diego (Dado) and Aunt Crystal (Tal). The ceramic reindeer and Santa came from Mina & Future Uncle James (more about that in a later post). So one morning back in December I set up a painting area in the kitchen and let Jackson go to town. Below is what my little Picasso created. Love it!

Congratulations...

...are in order! Stephanie & James got engaged shortly before Christmas! I'm a terrible sister in that I haven't blogged about it until now!!! So sorry! :( But since I'm trying to catch up on everything that happened in the last month, I figured now is a better time than ever to let everyone else in on the good news. Looks like there will be a March 2010 wedding! Can't wait! I'm super excited and so very happy for them! Love you guys!

Stephanie & James at Mount Vernon (back from when I was visiting in October).

Johnson City

The Saturday after Christmas we headed out to Johnson City to see all their Christmas lights. We went last year with my grandparents and had a lot of fun so we knew we wanted to definitely do it again this year. We went with my Grandpa, Annie, and Michael this year and had great fun! We stopped off in Marble Falls first for some dinner and then made our way out to Johnson City. Jackson LOVES Christmas lights so he went nuts when we arrived. He had so much fun running around everywhere. We look forward to going again next year.

Backpacking It

Jackson got this backpack for Christmas from Mrs. Romero (stepdad's mom). It's Cars and he loves it. I thought he looked so funny with it on especially since it's more than half his size and he happened to be without pants this day.

Here they are!

My ultrasound pix! Our desktop computer has pretty much died so I can't use our scanner so I went ahead and just took a picture of them. Duh! I don't know why I didn't think of that before.
Anyway, here's our sweet little girl!

Profile. The ultrasound tech immediately pointed out her button nose. I love it, it's so cute!

Yep, she's a girl. She's definitely missing that extra appendage that I'm used to! It's going to be so weird to change her diaper!

Her legs and bottom of her belly. She was all stretched out, just taking a load off.

Profile again. She had put her hand to her mouth and it looked like she might have been sucking her thumb but we really couldn't tell. We'll just say she is.

T-Ball

Jackson got a very cool t-ball set from Uncle Diego & Aunt Crystal. It's a hit! He LOVES it. We took it outside as soon as possible (the day after Christmas) and he had all sorts of fun. I have to say, the kid is pretty good at it. He has good coordination and can make a decent hit. You wouldn't guess it though being as he tends to close his eyes as he hits the ball! :)

Christmas Morning

Jackson woke up Christmas morning to find that Santa had left him a tricylce by the Christmas tree. He was very excited! He had a great time opening the rest of his gifts as well. We got a big kick out of the bike helmet that my grandpa bought him!

I CANNOT WAIT!!!

I just sat here and watched last seasons series finale of LOST. It had been a long time since I'd seen it. Oh my gosh, I cannot wait for next week!!!! And my goodness, I just love Desmond. 7 days and counting!

20 weeks

So as of this past Sunday, I am now 20 weeks along. That means I'm halfway through my pregnancy. Actually, for me, I'm more than halfway through. This little girl will be coming well before I reach the 40 week mark. Jackson was born just shy of 38 weeks. I'm expecting her to be the same or even earlier. So far, I've been feeling pretty good. Much, MUCH better than the first trimester. Sadly, I have no pictures of my growing belly to share with you. I've been terrible with this pregnancy and haven't documented it at all. I did so much better the first time around but then again I didn't have a toddler to chase after. And unfortunately, I still have no ultrasound pix to share with you because I've been to lazy to scan them. I hate our scanner so I can never bring myself to get around to using it. I think I forgot to mention last time around that I get to have another ultrasound at the end of this month. Little Girl C. wasn't cooperating so they didn't get all the measurements they needed. So at my next appt we get to see her again! I'm excited! Let's see, what else. We still haven't completely decided on a name. There's a name I've thrown out there that a few family members know about, we just haven't decided for sure on it yet. We're close though. Oh & when we ask Jackson if he wants a boy baby or a girl baby, he says boy! Of course he'd say the exact opposite! Also the other day Jerry asked him what was in mommy's belly and without hesitation he said "apple juice"! What a goof!

Christmas Eve

We started Christmas Eve by attempting to go to church. We actually found some seats in the very back. Unfortunately, Jackson thought church was a huge playground and only wanted to goof around. We lasted no more than 15 minutes before we had to high tail it outta there! We left before mass even started!! And get this, Jackson cried as we left. He wanted to stay at church and play! I was like, who cries because they have to leave church?!?!

After that we headed to my grandparents house. That's generally where we spend Christmas Eve. It was hard. Christmas was my grandma's favorite holiday and the fact that she wasn't there made it very difficult. We made the best of it though. We cried, we laughed, we remembered her. My step-dad dressed up as Santa so that certainly lightened the mood. It was pretty funny actually! Jackson had a great time despite eventually having a major melt down from being way overstimulated and completely exhausted!
