So Behind! Part one

Sheesh, I'm so behind on blogging! We've had a lot of fun things go on for the month of January but I just haven't had the chance to sit down and catch up! Although I absolutely love the holidays, it was nice to put them behind us and get back into a normal routine! So here's what we were up to for the month of January:

AT THE PARK
One day earlier this month Jackson went with his friend Daniel down to our neighborhood park. They had lots of fun together riding and pushing around the wagon. Daniel was having so much fun that he didn't even notice that his buddy Jackson had fallen over and that was he running all over him! You know I just had to snap a few pictures before I helped Jackson up! :) They had a great time but we had to call it quits once they started eating rocks. Plus, it was close to nap time!

BEANS
Trying to find something that Jackson will eat has proven to be quite challenging this month. He's become incredibly picky which makes lunch & dinner time a royal pain in my butt! One day he'll love something, the next day he won't. He tried black beans one day and really seemed to like them. In fact, he made quite a mess!

SNACK TIME WITH CHUCK
One afternoon after nap, Jackson decided he wanted to bring Chuck downstairs with him. Chuck is Jackson's Philadelphia Chicken. He's a pretty cool chicken, nice & soft. Jackson really likes hugging him. Jackson decided to share some of his yogurt raisins with Chuck. What a good friend!

Stay tuned, more to come....

Jackson's 12 Month Pix

I've been meaning to share Jackson's 12 month pictures for the longest time. Here he is about to turn 14 months old tomorrow and I'm barely getting around to it!! Many, many thanks to the absolutely wonderful Alison Eden. She's so talented and managed to get around a very distracted toddler!!

Flower

Earlier this month we took Jackson outside to roam around the front yard. He walked around, took a few falls, picked up sticks, and then picked this flower for his Mama. What a sweet boy! This Mama is so lucky!

Coach C

We couldn't stop laughing at how much Jackson looked like a little coach in this outfit! So Jerry handed him his UT football and snapped a few pix. Here's Coach C in action!

Happy Birthday, Dada....2 days later!!

We didn't get a chance to post a Happy Birthday to Daddy on his actual birthday (1/20 - Sunday). He's been busy using the laptop (which has all our pictures on it) to study for his promotional exam so Mommy & I haven't been able to get on. So here we are now wishing my Daddy a very Happy 32nd birthday!! He's the best Daddy in the world! He plays the guitar for me, gives me baths, reads me books, and gives me lots of hugs & kisses. Mommy & I love you Daddy!! Happy Birthday!

Love, Jackson

You can't see my shirt but it says "My Daddy is my Hero". I wore it on Sunday in honor of my Dad!

Bye Bye Mina! Bye Bye Uncle David!

My sister Stephanie (Jackson's Mina) left today for D.C. It was very hard to see her go! A significant amount of tears have been shed. We are going to miss her so, so much. We saw her pretty much every week so not being able to see her as often is no bueno but we hope to make a trip out to see her very soon! We wish her lots of luck & happiness!

As if Stephanie leaving today wasn't enough, my brother David also left this morning. He headed back to Virginia, where he is stationed. He had been here for 2 weeks on leave. It was great seeing him and spending time with him. Jackson wasn't as scared of him this time around as he was when David last visited. :) In fact, they had lots of fun this time around. Unfortunately, we won't be seeing David for a while. He's off to Spain next month and will return sometime in August.

We love you Mina! We love you Uncle David! And we miss you both very much!!

Christmas Day

We had a very nice Christmas! We spent most of the day at home...just the 3 of us. Jackson woke up to find his present from Santa sitting by the tree. He got a handmade, wooden rocking horse. It was made by Jerry's grandpa 50 or so years ago. Unfortunately, it only lasted a day! Somehow Jackson & I managed to knock it over and the head broke! :( Anyway, after breakfast, Jackson opened the rest of his presents. He had a blast! The rest of the day was spent relaxing, playing with toys, and watching movies. Later in the evening, my grandparents came over for dinner. We then bundled up and piled into the car for an evening drive out to Johnson City. We went to see their Christmas light displays. It was really cool and Jackson absolutely loved it!! He was so excited that he kept falling down, often flat on his face! At one time he managed to get a mouth full of grass! It was a great Christmas and I'm sad that it went by so fast.

Happy New Year!

So we didn't do a whole lot for New Year's Eve. We spent the evening with our friends Josh & Ann and their little guy, Bryce. We had a nice dinner at The County Line and then headed over to Mozart's for some coffee & dessert. We were back home by 10pm!

Jerry had to work today so Jackson & I spent the first day of the New Year bumming around the house. It was really nice, actually. It was the first time in a long time that we didn't have anything to do!

So adios 2007! What a year!! Here's to a fantabulous 2008!!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with my family at my grandparents house. Although Jackson's first Christmas was last year, he was only 3 1/2 weeks old so he had no idea what was going on. So we were really excited for him this year. He had so much fun opening presents and was so excited with everything he got. It was a late night but we all had a great time and Jackson had a blast!
