A birthday post just for me!

I just have to share this! I have a very dear friend, Christy, who wrote a special birthday post just for me. You can check it out here.

Thank you, Christy! You're awesome...love you!

32

So today is my 32nd birthday! I don't think I look it (at least I don't think I do), I don't really feel it (although, I'm not sure what your 30's should feel like) but I sure do KNOW it and knowing that you're 32, sucks! Okay, it's really not that bad....or is it!? It should be a nice birthday, though. I'm heading out to a nice breakfast with Jackson, Ann & Bryce, a trip to the park after breakfast, and then dinner later in the evening with my boys (Saltgrass....mmmm, I've been craving Saltgrass)! I might also try to throw in some shopping somewhere in there. I'm 32 and preggo...I deserve to go shopping!

Happy Birthday to my friend Bridget as well. She's older than me though so that makes me feel better! HA! ;)

Sweeping

A few weeks back the oak tree out back lost a ridiculous amount of leaves. Our back patio was completely covered! When we headed outside, Jackson grabbed the broom and started sweeping! What a good helper!!

Well, Jiminy Crickets!

So yesterday evening we had some pretty nasty thunderstorms blow through our area. I was out getting a hair cut when the storm started blowing in. As soon as my hair was done, I rushed home. The sky looked yucky! I had barely made it in the door of the house when the rain started. Shortly after, we heard some noise and saw teeny tiny little pea sized hail starting to fall and then all of a sudden these ginormous pieces started falling! We ended up getting marble to golf ball sized hail. It was ridiculous! And we felt so helpless watching it fall on our cars. Sure enough, we both ended up with hail damage. At least, I think Jerry did. I know my car has some hail damage but I never really looked at Jerry's truck. Son of a gun! As if we don't already have enough expenses with a baby coming!

We took some pix. I'll have to upload them later.

30 weeks

So Sunday I hit the 30 week mark. According to the books, I have 10 weeks left but really it's more like 7 - 8 weeks, maybe. YIKES!! Oh man, am I feeling really pregnant! I can't bend over well, I'm having major hip pain when I sleep at night, I'm tired, I'm having Braxton Hicks, and I'm experiencing major, horrible heartburn. Blah! I'm in major nesting mode too though. I've got a LONG list of things to do before baby comes!!

Thursday is my 30 week appt. I've got a million questions, including has my little girl turned yet!?!?! This daughter of mine has been completely transverse my whole pregnancy and I have a feeling she's still chillin' sideways. There's still time for her to get into position so let's hope she does because I really don't want to have a c-section!! I'm shooting for as natural as possible. Although, if given the opportunity, I'll gladly take an epidural this time around! ;)

Lots of Updates!!

I've been really behind on blogging so there will be a lot of updates today. I'm caught up through the beginning of March so I'll have more updates later today or maybe later in the week. Happy Sunday!

Running (think Forrest Gump)

One afternoon, we took Jackson out to the schoolyard area to try and fly a kite. Unfortunately, the wind wasn't really cooperating so we didn't have much luck. Jackson, however, had a blast just running and running. There will be a TON of pictures here because I just loved how much fun he was having!

He loved watching his shadow as he ran. It was so funny!

At the starting line...on your mark, get set, go!

Here he comes!

Still running!

Almost to the finish line!

He made it! Here's my sweet boy!

Mommy, I want to run...

...that way!

Gosh, I love that sweet face!

Crib Assembly & a 52 Week Pic

A few weeks back Jackson & Jerry put together the baby's crib. We also took the opportunity to take a quick family picture for week 7 (March 1-7). Again, another ridiculous pic!

52 weeks - week 6

Week of Feb. 22-28

NO PICTURE! Sorry!! :( We're pathetic!

Cousins Taking a Beating!

At the end of February, my family held a bbq in honor of my Grandma's birthday. It was interesting, to say the least. Jackson had a blast though with his cousins. Here he is giving them a serious beating. He doesn't hold back! There is no sympathy!!

52 weeks - week 5

Here's our week 5 picture from over a month ago! It was Feb. 20-something and I believe this may be the last family pic. I don't even know. Obviously, we haven't been keeping up with this. It was a great idea, in theory! And this picture is just ridiculous. We were getting ready to go somewhere and Jerry was in the middle of changing Jackson. The camera was sitting on the bar area and so I just set the timer on and let it snap away!

Batter Up!

Ginormous...yes, I know!

Okay, so I'll be the first to admit that I'm ginormous! I look like I could give birth fairly soon but nope, I'm 29 weeks and still have a little ways to go. I'm definitely sporting a large belly and a lot of butt though! I KNOW THIS AND IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION!

So this morning I was at the mall running some errands. Every single store I went to, I was asked how far along I was. I'd say 29 weeks and they'd be like "oh, cool." Although I'm sure they were thinking, damn, I thought she was due next week! My last stop was at JC Penney. I had one of those $10 off coupons that I wanted to use. An older woman was working the register and asked "Oh, are you having a boy?" I said "No, actually, I'm having a girl." She looked at me, her eyes bulging out of her face in complete disbelief, and said "Wow, that's gonna be one big girl." I thought...WHAT!?! I replied quite sarcastically "Uh...okay." Sheesh, lady, thanks a lot! Way to make a very pregnant mommy feel good about herself because in other words what you're trying to say is that I'm huge! I've decided that the next person that asks me what I'm having, I'm just going to say "So as to avoid unsolicited comments, I'm not disclosing that information"! So there, they can just put that in their pipe and smoke it!

Hallelujah!

Jackson took a nap today!!! A good, long 3 hour one! I was able to catch a 2 hour nap as well so all is good this afternoon. Cold & rainy but good!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

SO FRUSTRATED!

So my child has decided that he's not going to nap. Today is the second day in a row that he hasn't napped...the 5th or 6th day within the last week. Up until now, Jackson has been a great sleeper. I could always count on him napping and going to bed at night with no issues really. I don't know what's going on with him now but I am not pleased! I use his nap time to catch up on my own sleep as I'm becoming more & more tired as the days go by. If he doesn't nap, I don't nap, therefore mommy is not happy and if mommy is not happy, no one in this house is happy!!! What's even more frustrating is that I know he's tired. He rubs his eyes, yawns, does the whole bit but yet for some reason known only to Jackson, I suppose, he will not go to sleep! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so annoyed! If you pray, please pray for everyone in this house because we're soon going to completely fall apart if this nap issue doesn't get resolved!

Pregnancy Update

So as of today I am 28 weeks along, which means I've started my 3rd trimester! CrAzY!! Where did the time go? This pregnancy has gone by so, so fast! So here's the latest:

  • As of my 26 week appt. 2 weeks ago, I'm up 20 lbs. What!?!? No wonder I'm feeling all sorts of aches & pains.
  • Oh my aching back! That extra 20 lbs. I'm packin' is doing a number on my back & sciatic nerve. Poor Jerry is pulling overtime in rubbing my back. And it's not just my lower back that's killing me, it's my whole back...top, middle, lower. Ugh!! Sometimes I can't even walk right because of the pains shooting down my leg. I've had to cancel a couple of things already because I couldn't move very well.
  • Oh my aching feet & ankles! Most days, by the end of the day, my feet & ankles have just had it!! I need those rubbed as well. :)
  • My poor, poor bladder. Little girl is sitting right on it, she has this whole pregnancy. I have to pee a gazillion times a day...way more than I remember with Jackson. Most times I can feel her kicking or hitting it. Not pleasant, especially when there isn't a bathroom immediately available!
  • I'm so, so tired!! The sleep deprivation has already kicked in. Every few days I'll have a terrible night's sleep, which keeps me completely exhausted throughout the day. I'm already tired enough! But my naps revolve around Jackson's so I have to keep going until nap time. Sometimes I'm barely making it!
  • I'm irritable! Very, VERY irritable!
  • I've started my bi-weekly appointments. I can't believe I'm already to that point! When I saw my doc last, she said "Okay, I'll see you in 2 weeks!" I said, "What? Already?" Sheesh-ola!
  • I'm starting to have major anxiety about getting things ready for the baby. We are so behind on everything and it's driving me crazy! We have to finish the changing table, find a dresser, finish the closet, finish painting the closet, get the bumper & crib skirt made, etc..etc..etc... I have a million checklists for all the things we have left to to do!
  • Best news of all, I passed my 1 hour glucose test!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was SHOCKED, to say the least! I had gestational diabetes with Jackson and was fully expecting to have it again. The doctor's office called me the day after I took the test and I thought "Aw, crap!" when I saw their number pop up on my phone. The nurse was only calling though to let me know that my iron was a little low and that I needed to take some iron pills in addition to my prenatals. I asked "But everything else was fine?" She said, yep, that my blood work was great. Hallelujah! I was not looking forward to having to go through that dreaded 3 hour test! So no GD this time around!!
Oh & here are the ultrasound pix from my 2nd ultrasound back in January. I just barely got around to scanning them.

At the Park

There's a great park not far from our house that I love taking Jackson to. They have a huge sand pit area where the kids can dig for 'dinosaur bones'. Ann & Bryce met us there a few weeks back and the boys had a great time. After some playing, the boys munched on peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. I was completely SHOCKED that Jackson ate 3/4 of his sandwich! He hadn't touched a pb&j sandwich, or any sandwich for that matter, in months!!! Seriously, I think it's been since before we even moved. He only ate it though because someone else made it for him. I tried giving him a pb&j sandwich the next day and he wanted nothing to do with it! What a goof!

52 weeks - week 4

Okay, so here are pix from week 4, which was the week of February 8th. We look terrible yet hilarious at the same time! Jerry was fixin' :) to go to work and Jackson & I were just bumming around. Of course, Amber managed to get herself into yet another picture. I had to include those 2 of Jackson because he just looked so silly. He was acting totally crazy when we were taking these. Ha! I just can't help but laugh every time I look at these!

52 weeks - Week 3

Wow, I'm really behind on this!! Sadly, week 3 produced not a single picture! We're so pathetic. It was only week 3 and we couldn't manage to take a freakin picture! Oh well.

Baby Bryce & Jackson

A couple of weeks ago we hosted our monthly dinner with our friends Matt, Deborah, and Baby Bryce. As usual, we had a great time. Jackson got some cool bath books from Bryce for his birthday. So he decided to read them to Bryce. It was really cute. Although, I don't think I've ever heard a fish make the kind of noises Jackson was making!! I think Deborah got some video of it. I'll have to get it from her because it was really funny!
