Saturday was the 150th Anniversary of the Austin Fire Department. AFD celebrated by having a big shindig at the Austin Fire Museum and central station. Jackson & I went with Mimi & Mina. We met Jerry down there and also our friends Ann & Bryce. We had a great time visiting with all our fire friends! We hung out, ate lunch, took ANOTHER tour of the museum, and checked out the fire trucks. The turn out was great and the fire museum did really well! They're selling some really cool 150th anniversary t-shirts for $10 if anyone is interested!! ;) Anyway, we had lots of fun and the party was a great success. It was Jerry's last hurrah as he is now handing over the reigns to Phil. Good luck, Phil! Have fun being President!! :)

Helping Daddy
Jerry made a gate to put at the bottom of our stairs. Jackson decided that Daddy needed some help installing it so he went over to supervise and make sure all was level! It sure is great having two handymen in the house!!

J & B
Jackson got to hang out with his fire buddy Bryce last week. (Bryce's daddy is Josh and he works with Jerry). They hadn't seen each other in a really long time!!! Jackson & Bryce had lunch together at Phil's Ice House off of Burnet Road. Well, technically, their mommies had lunch there. Jackson & Bryce just chowed down on some baby food, Cheerios, and puffs. After lunch, J & B decided to hit up the swing set at the nearest park. They had a nice time swinging back & forth and laughing with their mommies. They decided to call it a day after 20 minutes or so since it was nearing nap time. Luckily, they did because as soon as they got in the car, it started pouring down rain! Until next time...

Last September...
I was going through some pictures from last year and found a few of Jerry & me from around this time. I was 6 months pregnant. Jerry & I were busy getting ready for baby by getting in some practice time with Amber! :)
The Many Positions of Sleep
Wow, Jackson is really all over the place while he sleeps these days. Before crawling, he really only stuck to one position and that was on his back. It was very rare to find him in a totally different spot other than where we last left him when we put him down for the night. I don't know what it is about his newfound ability to move but now, he's on his side, on his tummy, has his butt in the air, is completely vertical in the crib, is lying on top of his gloworm, or what have you. One morning we found him cuddled up to Patches, his patchwork stuffed dog made by his Bisa. The next morning we found him with his arm hanging out of the crib. Tomorrow morning who knows what we'll find!

Jello Mess!
Jackson had some fun with jello one evening after dinner. I gave it to him out of pure desperation. It was a few days after my widsom teeth surgery, I was by myself, and I was trying to eat dinner (mac & cheese). Jackson was being fussy and wasn't the least bit interested in watching mommy struggle to eat so I grabbed one of my jello cups and let him have at it. He loved it...I didn't! It was one HUGE sticky mess. But oh well, the jello served its purpose. It kept him occupied for the almost half hour it took me to eat a few spoonfuls of mac & cheese!

Wedding Bells
Uncle Diego & Aunt Crystal got hitched on Saturday 9/16! It was a fantabulous
wedding and we all had a great time. We wish Diego & Crystal lots of love & happiness! Enjoy the pics!

9 Month Stats
Jackson had is 9 month well check yesterday and all is well! He weighed 19.5 lbs (25th percentile), he measured 28 in. long (25-50th percentile), and his big old noggin measured 18 1/4 in. (75th percentile). HA HA! We knew that head of his was big. While at the pediatric office, Jackson also had his finger pricked for an anemia check and he received a flu shot. The flu shot was no fun! Jackson ended up with a 103.4 fever last night and it made for a very restless night for everyone! He's doing much better today though.
So what's Jackson up to now you ask. Here's the latest:
- He's crawling...EVERYWHERE!
- He pulls himself up to standing.
- He absolutely LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the Disney Channel. Yeah, that's right, I succumbed to the TV. Jackson never really watched TV but those 2 weeks that I was recuperating from my wisdom teeth surgery, I needed all the help I could get and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was it!
- He can do a little bit of cruising along the sofa.
- He's feeding himself and has developed his pincer grasp. In fact, he's eating a ton of table food and we'll hopefully phase out the baby food soon.
- He's gone on a sippy cup strike! I don't know what happened there but we're working on it!
- He's saying things but we can't tell what they are! :) He says 'dada' but I'm not sure he knows what it means. He does make a certain sound when he sees the cats, which I think is pretty cool.
- He likes to bang things together, look through touch & feel books, and remove all our DVD's from the entertainment center.
- He understands 'no' only when he feels like it.
- And he's cutting 6 teeth all at the same time!
Being silly at Biso & Bisa's house!

The Back Door
Jackson LOVES looking out our back door especially when he has his feline sister, Amber next to him. She's finally warming up to him and has been spending more & more time with him. That is until Jackson whacks her! He has no self control and Amber won't stand for it! Anyhow, here they are looking longingly out the back door. So cute!
